Dr. Regis W. Haid, Jr., MD, FAANS, is an internationally recognized leader, innovator, and educator in the field of neurosurgery. Over a distinguished career spanning decades, Dr. Haid has held the highest executive leadership roles in organized medicine, serving as the President of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Chair of the Board of Directors for the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF), and Chair of the Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves (AANS/CNS). In recognition of his profound impact on the specialty, he was honored with the Cushing Medal, the highest accolade bestowed in organized neurosurgery, alongside the Meritorious Service Award from the Joint Spine Section and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS).
