G. Marshall Butler is a respected business leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with more than five decades of experience in the automotive industry and community leadership across Georgia. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Butler co-leads Butler Automotive Group, one of the state’s most prominent family-owned dealership networks, representing Toyota, Ford, Honda, Lexus, Volkswagen, BMW, Acura, Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and Nissan brands. He has also served as Chairman of multiple dealerships and guided the company’s continued growth as a multi-generational enterprise.
In addition to his business achievements, Mr. Butler has held numerous leadership roles within the automotive industry, including serving on the Southeast Toyota Dealer Council (Past Chairman), Toyota National Dealer Council, and as Past President of the Georgia Automotive Wholesalers Association. He has been recognized nationally with honors such as the Toyota President’s Award, Elite of Lexus Award, BMW Standard of Excellence Award, and Time Magazine’s “Dealer of the Year” for Georgia.
Deeply committed to civic and philanthropic engagement, Mr. Butler has served in leadership roles across numerous organizations. He is a Distinguished Eagle Scout and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, having served as Past President of the Boy Scouts of America Central Georgia Council and on its Board of Directors. He is Past Chairman of the Macon Chamber of Commerce, and has served on boards including the Rotary Club, Salvation Army, Central Georgia Technical Foundation, Mercer University, Wesleyan College, BB&T Macon Community Board, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and Stratford Academy.
For his outstanding contributions to business and the community, Mr. Butler received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
Outside of his professional and civic endeavors, he is an avid golfer, pilot, and boating enthusiast.
