Responsibilities
· Work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish the goals of the Discovery team within the overall strategy of the company · Contribute intellectually to the team and company by communicating results and observations · Work in a laboratory setting with knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures · Perform routine mammalian cell culture, including media preparation, neural exosome isolation and characterization · Perform a wide variety of laboratory techniques including but not limited to western blots, ELISAs, RT-PCR, Flow Cytometry, and other molecular/biochemical assays · Assist with ongoing animal studies using rodent models, as needed · Be proficient with data analysis and performing statistical analyses · Possess a high attention to detail with the ability to work independently and solve technical problems · Ability to work 2-3 weekend days per month for routine cell culture work will be required
Position Description
The Research Associate I/II position supports the Discovery Research at Aruna Bio in drug development efforts with our proprietary neural exosomes platform. The candidate will work as part of the larger Discovery team with opportunities to interact with other departments. The Research Associate position reports directly to the Senior Research Scientist and the Director of Discovery Research. MS/BS degree in a biological science is required with 0-2 years of research experience. The position requires the candidate to perform in vitro and in vivo experiments in support of Discovery Research goals, including occasional weekend work.
Qualifications
· MS/BS in Life Sciences with 0-2 years of relevant experience is required · Mammalian cell culture experience with aseptic technique is required · Experience in performing molecular and biochemical assays is preferred
