Information Technology Services Intern
The IT Services Intern will join the Aruna Bio Information Technology Department to learn and contribute to company objectives for approximately 20 hours per week during the 2023-2024 academic year. Start date, schedule, frequency of remote work, and duration of internship are negotiable. An IT Services Intern’s day-to-day work will consist of providing technical support, provisioning computers for new hires, managing IT inventory and records, and assisting with application and network administration. The successful candidate will also assist in developing Aruna Bio’s IT infrastructure and perform project-related tasks to meet business needs. Candidates need to possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Given the fast-paced work environment, the IT Services Intern must be highly organized and work efficiently while managing several projects at once. Examples of ongoing projects that the IT Services Intern might be involved include building automated workflows and/or applications to improve efficiency of business processes, creating tutorials or instructional videos for the company, performing data migration and archival, or conducting an annual inventory of IT hardware.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to all end-users in person, via email/IM, and/or with remote access software and escalate issues as appropriate
• Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Assist with purchase and provisioning of IT equipment, as well as maintain IT Asset records
• Assist with administration of business applications and the company’s network
• Research new software and applications and facilitate deployment as needed
• Assist with development and writing of IT-related procedures
• Coordinate with other departments to provide technical support and create IT infrastructure, applications, and/or automated workflows to facilitate business processes
• Provide support for ongoing IT projects • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the IT Team Lead or Management
• Take initiative as problems and/or opportunities arise
Qualifications, Education and Experience
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a Computer Science or Systems Engineering BS program, Information Technology AS program, or similar field of study • Demonstrated proficiencies with PC hardware and software systems • 1-2 years of experience providing professional technical support preferred • Excellent troubleshooting capability with demonstrated ability to expediently diagnose technical issues and determine a path to resolution by leveraging available knowledge and resources • It is highly preferred that the candidate has experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Power Automate, and Power Apps • Demonstrated passion for information technology and problem solving • Keen attention to detail • Demonstrated effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to change to meet deadlines in a consistent, complete, accurate, and timely manner • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills • Must be highly self-motivated and team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment • This position requires sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time
